2012 Grammys: The Winners

Adele sweeps the board

It is the biggest event of the music calendar - and although Whitney Houston's death inevitably cast a shadow on the 2012 Grammys ceremony, there were still awards to be handed out and voices to be honoured.

Adele made a triumphant return to form after months spent battling with throat problems, winning all six Grammys she was nominated for - including album of the year for 21 and record of the year for Rolling In The Deep.

The Foo Fighters were hot on the British singer's heels, picking up five of the six Grammys they were up for, including best rock album for Wasting Light.

Kanye West was up next, scooping four of the seven awards he was nominated for.

The Foo Fighters, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen performed during the ceremony, as did Jennifer Hudson, who sang a moving rendition of Whitney Houston's ballad I Will Always Love You, in tribute to the late singer.
