Aifric Campbell

Aifric Campbell answered your questions about her time as the first female Managing Director on the trading floor at Morgan Stanley in London and how after 13 years in the City she launched a second successful career as a writer (her third novel On The Floor has just been long listed for the 2012 Orange Prize.)

On The Floor is a taut, fast-paced tale of money, ambition and risk that gives a rare female perspective on a predominantly male world. The story follows Geri Molloy as she enjoys a flourishing career as an investment banker in the early '90s which then takes a darker turn as circumstances shift.

We couldn’t help wondering exactly how much of her own experiences in the City informed Campbell’s writing and if you want to find out about her time in the traditionally macho world of finance and how (and why) she became a critically acclaimed novelist. This webchat has now finished but you can see all the questions and Aifric's answers in the comments section below.
