Jo graduated with a BA honours degree in Home Economics from Liverpool John Moores University in 1995. She built up experience by working with world-famous chefs including Gordon Ramsay and Jamie Oliver on live cookery demonstrations and TV shows such as Hell’s Kitchen. She is also good friends with Gary Rhodes, having worked extensively with him on his books and TV programmes.
As well as being food editor at Glamour magazine for the past four years, Jo's recipes have featured in a string of TV shows, including ITV’s Daybreak and BBC’s Saturday Kitchen. Her focus is on real cooking for real people and she is famed for combining fantastic styling ideas with recipes that can be enjoyed on an everyday basis.
Jo's first book – The Nation’s Favourite Food was published by BBC Books in 2003, and her second book In The Mood For Food hit the shelves in February 2007 to rave reviews. A third book, In The Mood For Entertaining, followed in summer 2009 and book number four is currently being written.
Jo lives in London with her husband Phil (the best fed man in London – his words), and two young children Oliver and Rosa (Jo’s harshest food critics). She is currently working with Gaggia coffee, who will be holding a Twitter coffee morning next Wednesday (1 June) using the hashtag #loveGaggia.
