We were recently joined for a lunchtime masterclass with Poppy de Villeneuve, photographer and film director.
Poppy is the daughter of Justin de Villeneuve, the Sixties fashion photographer who discovered Twiggy, and model Jan de Villeneuve.
She started out in modelling herself before taking up photography at London College of Printing. After graduating, she worked with a number of high-profile titles including Vogue and Dazed & Confused.
Most recently she has been directing commercials and new digital media projects worldwide. She also shoots regularly for The New York Times and The Telegraph.
Poppy made the first Instagram music video for indie rock band The Vaccines, for their song Wetsuit. Last year she directed a project involving ten short films for the Ray-ban Raw Sounds project, working alongside Johnny Marr (The Smiths) Tom Vek, Best Coast, Mona, Au Revoire Simone and Carsick cars.
Poppy De Villneuve has launched the HTC My Life: Dusk Until Dawn photography project, a seven week Twitter campaign which invites the public to capture and share their own photographic experiences. Entering the campaign is simple – just upload your dusk until dawn images via Twitter alongside a short description and share with the @HTC_UK, using the #DuskUntilDawn.
This web chat has now finished but you can read all the questions posed to Poppy and her replies in the comments section below
