We were recently joined for a live web chat with cook and food writer Rachel Khoo, star of BBC2’s The Little Paris Kitchen: Cooking with Rachel Khoo.
Six years ago, Croydon-born Rachel decided to leave her fashion marketing job and move from London to Paris to do a three-month patisserie course at Le Cordon Bleu cookery school.
After completing the course Rachel worked at bookstore and tea salon, La Cocotte, where she also ran her own baking workshops, before hitting on the idea to open a restaurant in her tiny flat.
Hosting just two diners at a time with Rachel cooking on a two-ring hob, La Petite Cuisine à Paris soon became the talk of the city and then through Twitter and the international food scene, helping Rachel to go on and publish two French-language cook books before scoring a series with the BBC.
