Seven seriously hip hotels to follow on Instagram

screen-shot-2015-11-24-at-17-59-56.png

Forget beauty bloggers and fashion brands. Some of the coolest, quirkiest and most inspiring Instagram accounts belong to independent hotels.

Stylist’s contributing travel editor, Anna Hart, reveals her favourite hotels around the globe...many of which have Kardashian-grade Instagram followings.

Hotel Saint Cecilia, Austin, Texas

A firm favourite among SXSW-headed celebrities - and Lena Dunham’s favourite hotel - the Saint Cecilia is the baby of uber-stylish designer and hotelier Liz Lambert.

Loveland Farm, North Devon, England

If this is the future of glamping, Bring. It. On. Fashion designers Jeff and Karina Griffin have created a beautiful, sustainable space dotted with futuristic eco-pods for guests.

Follow for: rugged coastal landscapes, space-age geodomes, and did we mention the baby pigs?

Madonna Inn, San Luis Obispo, California

Built in the 1950s by the Madonna family, this gloriously retro and unashamedly OTT hotel remains a firm favourite with everyone from local ladies-who-lunch to LA hipsters.

With a sexy poolside bar, renowned steak restaurant, Barbie-pink tennis courts and decor designed to raise eyebrows, if you can’t have a good time at the Madonna Inn, check your pulse.

El Fenn Hotel, Marrakech, Morocco

Marrakesh is a city made for Instagram, from the brightly-hued spice markets to the mosaic tiles to the staggering sunsets. And no Insta account shows this off more beautifully than the El Fenn, an arty, boho-luxe boutique retreat in the medina, with a rooftop just made for minty cocktails.

Urban Cowboy, Brooklyn, New York

Super-cool Williamsburg is somewhat short of super-cool hotels to match, which is why Urban Cowboy, part townhouse B&B, part art project, has been such a hit. Expect vast vintage leather sofas, exposed brickwork walls, Navajo weaves and a saloon vibe; this is way-out-West cowboy meets East Coast designer.

Uxua Casa Hotel, Trancoso, Brazil

This art-filled casa hotel is a perennial favourite among the sort of uber-stylish celebrities who shun the likes of the Four Seasons; Solange Knowles honeymooned here. Created and owned by Wilbert Das, former Creative Director of Diesel, every picture will make you want to book the next flight to Trancoso.

The Hoxton Hotel, London, England

From decadent breakfasts to imaginative cocktails and regular arty flourishes in-between, the Hox’s Insta account resembles the dream East London lifestyle we’d all like to lead.
