This glass bottomed sky pool definitely isn't for the faint-hearted

If you’re afraid of heights, look away now. If you’re looking for a new flat with a unique selling point and you consider yourself a daredevil, step right this way…

Market Square Tower – an apartment block in Houston, Texas – recently unveiled its new pool and it’s far from your average rooftop lido.

The sky pool features a glass bottom which overlooks the 40 storey drop below.

If you’re a little nervous looking at that dizzying drop, it may be comforting to know that, according to Houston Chronicle, the pool’s 10-foot transparent extension is made from 8 inch-thick plexiglass.

And, for those who suffer from vertigo, there’s a normal pool on the fourth floor of the apartment block.

The building also boasts a golf simulation room, sauna, basketball court, cinema and poker suite.

"We are proud to introduce a new amenities-driven concept to Houston allowing us to provide our residents the ultimate level of convenience and comfort," Philip Schneidau, the CEO of the block’s investors said.

"The amenities at Market Square Tower were meticulously researched by our team to create a new kind of residential experience in Houston."

Sold? If you’re willing to relocate to Texas, you can rent an apartment at the block for between $1,805 (£1,454) a month for a 564-square-foot studio, to $18,715 (£15,075) for a three-bedroom penthouse.
