This is how to book an NYC shopping trip with Sarah Jessica Parker/Carrie Bradshaw herself

Sex and the City may have hit our screens back in 1998, but the show continues to hold a very special place in our hearts. We spend hours obsessing over which character we’re most like (we’re a Miranda, if anyone’s wondering), chuckling over Samantha’s one-liners, and debating whether Carrie should have ended up with Big or Aidan.

Above all else, though, we obsess over Carrie’s seemingly endless – and undeniably enviable – wardrobe. Which is why, when we learned that Airbnb is offering “an unforgettable shoe-shopping experience” with Sarah Jessica Parker herself, we lost our minds a little bit.

That’s right: thanks to the holiday rental site, we can finally stop taking those ‘which SATC character are you?’ quizzes and live out our SATC shopping fantasies with this experiential travel offer.

Carrie Bradshaw

Carrie Bradshaw could soon be your new BFF

The Sole of the City tour (clever) invites you to spend two hours discovering Manhattan with Parker herself, whose bio describes her as an “actor, producer, businesswoman, avid reader and proud New Yorker”.

It kicks off, of course, with a shoe-shopping trip at Bloomingdales department store on the Upper East Side. In the comfort of this iconic NYC landmark, Parker will talk you through her very own SJP shoe collection, before gifting you with a pair of your very own.

If having the shoe queen herself help you pick out some fancy footwear isn’t something to tick off the bucket list, we don’t know what is.

The trip doesn’t end there, however: from Bloomingdales, you’ll head to Forty Carrots, pick up a tub of their famous frozen yogurt and settle down for a good ol’ chinwag with Parker about all things NYC.

Once your appetite has been sated, Parker will wave you goodbye as you trot off in your new heels for a night at the ballet – where you’ll be treated to some of the best seats in the house and (apparently) a flurry of VIP surprises.

Parker said in a phone interview with The Associated Press that she gave a lot of thought to making sure that her tour "speaks to the very colourful identity that is New York. We could have gone to MOMA or the Whitney or walked through Chinatown or certainly had a nice walk on the High Line or just strolled the streets of the East Village or Midtown East.”

She decided on Bloomingdale's because it's “an iconic destination” where she hopes to “be of service” in helping her guests pick out the perfect footwear.

The ballet, she added, is “one of the great cultural experiences anybody can have" in New York, whether they live here or are visiting”.

The experience (which costs £306) is described as a “social impact experience”, with all profits going to the NYC ballet, where Parker is a board member.

And we have a feeling it will be worth every last penny. After all, as Carrie Bradshaw says: “You only get one great love, and New York may just be mine.”
