The topless tour movement goes viral

topless-hero.jpg

When travelling, it's not usually the norm to discard your bikini top unless you've decided to go to a nudist beach or you've had an unfortunate accident when diving into the swimming pool (we've all been there, right guys? RIGHT?).

However, three travellers are making it their mission to go topless at every opportunity they can while they're making their way around the globe, and encouraging others to do the same.

They've already amassed a massive 9,000 likes on Facebook and 14,500 followers on Instagram. Not only that, other women from all over the world have been emailing them their own topless travelling snaps, which are then shared on their Instagram feed.

Lydia Buckler, Olivia Edginton and Ingvild Olsen, who hail from Stratford-upon-Avon, Manchester, and Brumunddal, Norway, respectively, began taking snaps of their topless poses over a year ago in December 2012 as they've been travelling.

The shots, although they sound rather explicit, are actually very tame, and only show the backs of the women, who clearly have nothing to cover them. But the important part are the backdrops which frame each topless image, as each photo shows a landmark or beautiful scenery from one of the many places they've visited.

And the idea behind it? According to the three women, the idea is about "uniting people across the globe to feel the freedom and share their beauty with the world."

Speaking to ABC News, they said: “It all began around the biggest lake in Norway, Mjøsa, in 20-year-old Ingvild’s hometown of Brumunddal. We had been for a walk around the lake and very spontaneously decided to see how cold we could really feel, as it was winter when we first lost our topless virginity.”

Since they began their tour, they've visited places such as Berlin and London, and are set to head to Croatia and Sweden very soon.

Take a look at just some of their snaps, and their followers' photos, below.
