You and your best mate could Instagram your way around Europe for free

If you’re a travel addict, you’ve probably always assumed that working hard to save money is how you’re going to afford your dream holiday. But, if you’ve set your sights on one continent in particular – say, Europe – we may just have found you a way to do it for free.

Yes, free. As in, gratis, costless, on the house.

A travel company is offering two all-expenses-paid trips across Europe – and all you have to do in return (because, yes, this is a quid-pro-quo situation) is hit up social media feeds. Which you’d probably have done anyway.

The Busabout website says of the freebie five-month trips: “[We are] looking for two travel addicts to send on the trip of a lifetime! We’re offering you the opportunity to experience Europe to its fullest, no catch.

“You’ll be working as a team to produce regular travel-themed vlogs, as well as documenting your trip on our social networks and blog.”

It adds: “If selected, you will be embarking on the trip of a lifetime.”

And they aren’t kidding. You’ll be planning your own itinerary, but it’ll include a stroll through Paris and a trip to the ancient castles of the Czech Republic. You’ll also get the chance to claim the top of Europe in the Swiss Alps, sail the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic coast, island-hop your way to the most stunning Greek sunset, party it up in Ibiza and round things off with a stein (or three) at Germany’s Oktoberfest celebrations.

Busabout has two ‘positions’ – that of a brand ambassador and a video producer – and you can even apply with a friend and (potentially) end up travelling together.

If you’re an engaging storyteller, social media junkie, a natural in front of the camera and a history lover, you’ll want to put yourself forward for the brand ambassador gig. Video producer wannabes, meanwhile, should have proven video-editing skills, a creative mindset and a knack for meeting deadlines.

Both roles require you to have a valid passport and be over the age of 18.

If you’re successful in your application, you’ll find yourself travelling continuously between late April and late September this year – and all of your travel expenses will be covered. Busabout is also willing to fork out for your accommodation, excursions and daily food budget – and will pay you an extra bonus upon completion to take away the sting of returning to the real world.

All in all, it sounds like a travel dream come true.

If you’re interested, you need to explain why you’re the right person for the job and submit a YouTube video revealing a little something about yourself, as well as your favourite travel location. Find out more about the application process here, but, fair warning, the deadline is already looming: you need to get your form filled in and sent before Sunday 5 March.

We'd wish you good luck, but, being as you'll probably be our direct competition for this one, we'll settle for a competitive glare across the internet instead…
