The ready-to-wear collection is an ode to the 21st Century woman; “not just the Victoria Beckham woman, but all women”.

In meeting this brief, Beckham created a stylish and practical edit featuring everything from flattering cape-style jackets to free-fitting dresses and a statement white suit (as modelled by Tennant).

Bold, structural outlines and vibrant pops of colour added an extra touch of dynamism.

Stylist’s fashion director Arabella Green, watching the show, was stuck by the great tailoring, as well as a distinct retro edge.

“It’s great to have Victoria Beckham back in London for the season,” she says. “I noticed a nod to the early 90s with both the music and the feel of the collection.

“There was lots of layering, low-slung trousers, knit dresses and slips. It was chic, cool and very Victoria Beckham.”
