The idea comes from the people behind the Camden Cheese Bar, a cheese specialist that already has a restaurant in Camden and an Instagram full of genuinely mouth-watering pictures of oozing cheese toasties, melted mozarella and fluffy cheesecake.

Pick & Cheese, as the new Covent Garden venue is called, opens on 7 September as part of the KERB Seven Dials food market and will feature a 40 metre conveyor belt, carrying 25 different types of cheese.

Passionate about championing British cheese and supporting small producers, the mini restaurant features an all-British menu, with picks from farms and urban producers. To create a truly special experience, each plate (all of which are hand made, decor fiends will be pleased to know) will come with a condiment pairing picked individually for each type of cheese. Some of the examples include coolea (a Gouda-like cow’s milk) with hazelnut brittle, and fresh ricotta with sherry-infused cherries.
