One thing we can all agree on? We’re busy. Too busy. Which is why we’re demanding our beauty regimes start working harder for us, so we can make the most of that rare thing – valuable time
How often do you make the most of having 15 minutes to yourself?
We’re not talking about enough time on the bus to scroll through Instagram, we mean really having time to yourself.
Like when you’re wearing a face mask at home and probably not brave enough to go outside. That time is valuable, so you might as well do something productive, useful or soul-enriching.
We reckon in the 15 minutes it takes one of your Neutrogena® Mask Collection masks to work its magic, there are a bunch of self-care rituals you can do for yourself that you wouldn’t usually find the time for.
Whether you’ve opted for a Neutrogena Hydrogel Recovery Mask (which delivers the equivalent of a 30ml bottle of serum in one use) or an Instant-Facial Cream-Mask (developed in South Korea - the undisputed masters of skincare - giving you all the benefits of a facial in less time), here’s what we’d do with those spare minutes…
Read something revealing
We’re all guilty of not reading as much as we’d like (isn’t that what holidays are for?).
But if we knew exactly how long it would take us to read something, we’re more likely to fit it into the time we have.
Longform collates the best investigative journalism from around the world for your perusal and every feature comes with an estimated read time.
Ten minutes on Silicon Valley’s quest to preserve Stephen Hawking’s robotic voice? Perfect.
Prepare a meal
OK, we know 15 minute meals often sound too good to be true (no one ever factors in all that chopping that Jamie Oliver does at the speed of light), but trust us, they do exist.
Your meal will be ready by the time you take your face mask off. Bon appétite…
Listen to a TED talk
Strictly speaking, a TED talk is slated to last 18 minutes, but if you start one as you’re applying your mask, you’re going to get through it all (the mask can be applied for up to 30 minutes anyway).
Check out TED’s helpful list of its most popular talks of all time – several of which conveniently come in at under 15 minutes.
Get some head space
If you’re spending time on your physical wellbeing, it’s only fair to do the same for your mental wellbeing, too.
For a two-pronged attack, use those 15 minutes of face-mask time to focus on your mind.
Headspace offers short guided mediation sessions, or try The Mindful Podcast – the free episodes are filled with 5 or 10 minute mindful practices addressing topics such as gratitude and negative habits.
