There’s nothing more useful for switching up your beauty routine than a bit of advice from a bona fide make-up expert.
From the five cult products that celebrity make-up artists swear by, to the little-known beauty secrets of industry experts such as hair stylist Jen Atkin’s toothbrush trick, a bit of hard-earned wisdom can sometimes be a game-changer.
So all hail Adele’s make-up artist, Michael Ashton, for divulging one of his most trusted beauty hacks so far.
Get ready: you will never want to apply concealer in the same way again.
Speaking to The Cut, Ashton revealed the ultimate way to banish dark under-eye circles or blemishes.
In order to prolong the life and intensity of an under-eye concealer, he recommends first dabbing a little eye-shadow primer on the area of skin you wish to cover.
This will not only make it last longer, but also prevent creasing.
“Dusting powder on top of concealer can cause creasing,” he said.
“Prepping concealer with a primer first does not.”
Ashton also demonstrated his hack using a product we can only assume must be one of his favourites: a Coconut Eye Primer by Marc Jacobs.
While the product is currently only available in the US, you can still try out the hack using your own favourite primer.
After all, we can definitely put our trust in a man who can make winged eyeliner look that good...
