Aveda’s Cherry and Almond haircare range was a brand staple for 30 years before getting taken off the shelves 10 years ago. Now, it’s back…
Not to get too deep, but every once in a while, I become quite attached to a beauty product. Whether it’s the Insta-worthy packaging, alluring scent or high-quality finish, there’s some beauty bits that I am (to quote Love Island) very loyal to. So you can only imagine my sheer devastation when one of my most beloved beauty products is discontinued.
Thankfully, though, some brands bring back beloved products. And now Aveda’s popular cherry almond scent is making a comeback after a decade off the shelves.
According to Allure, Aveda launched in 1978 and the Cherry Almond Bark hair products was one of its first releases. The collection remained a brand staple for 30 years before getting discontinued in 2008. Naturally, hardcore fans are very excited by the news.
The Cherry Almond collection includes the new Cherry Almond Softening Shampoo, £15.50, and the new Cherry Almond Softening Conditioner, £17. The formula contains cherry blossom extract and sweet almond oil that works to make hair soft and shiny, but it also serves another benefit.
Namely the fact that just one sniff will remind you of delicious cherry bakewell.
The product is made from 98% naturally-derived ingredients, making it vegan, gluten-free and silicone-free, not to mention suitable for a wide range of hair types. Win!
The range recently launched in the US and it was an instant success. Aveda told Stylist.co.uk that the products sold out online in just a few weeks of launching and quickly garnered a 2,000-person waiting list.
Unfortunately, the Cherry Almond collection doesn’t launch in the UK until 1 October, so we have a little longer to wait. But we’re sure there’ll be a stampede when the products hit our shores.
