Gilt lids and lashes reigned supreme at Monday night’s Met Gala, and we’re all over the eye-popping look…
This year’s hotly-anticipated Met Gala saw the likes of Rihanna, Blake Lively and Kim Kardashian walk the world-famous stairs at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The theme of the event was ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’ – and while the pearl-adorned dresses, studded headpieces and bejewelled trains stole our attention first, it wasn’t long before our eyes were drawn to the absolutely stunning make-up looks. And one trend reigned supreme among the celebrity guests: bronze eyes.
From Bella Hadid to Kerry Washington, all manner of celebrities ditched the failsafe nudes and classic feline flicks for an elaborate sprinkling of gold eyeshadow, gems and glitter – and boy, was it beautiful.
First on our radar was actress Priyanka Chopra, whose make-up artist, Pati Dubroff, went to town with a blanket of gold-flecked glitter on her eyelids to match her elaborate, Indian goddess-inspired headdress. A slick of deep red lipstick and bold brows cemented the look in glamour.

Selena Gomez followed suit and juxtaposed her extravagant eye with lashings of bronzer and a dab of nude lipstick to let the gold do all of the dazzling.
Championing the reverse cat eye, model Bella Hadid framed her eyes with a swipe of gold eyeliner in the inner corners and a dusting of smokey eyeshadow to bring the look together.

Jennifer Lopez went for more is more with metallic gold eyeshadow both on her lids and underneath her lower lash line with dramatic, fluttery lashes to finish.
And just when we thought it couldn’t get any prettier, actress Olivia Munn made a case for golden gems, dotting three in the corners of her eyes to match her amazing chain-mail headpiece.
