Back in February 2016, Caitlyn Jenner unveiled her first Viva Glam lipstick in collaboration with MAC: “Finally Free”, a suits-all shade of rosy nude that raised over £1m ($1.3m) for transgender organisations.
Now, just under a year later, the activist, athlete and reality TV star is joining the ranks of Mariah Carey, Rihanna and Barbie in launching a full MAC beauty collection – and it’s just as good as you might have hoped.
Jenner’s stated beauty mission is to represent “all ages, all races, and all sexes”, and the new collection delivers on that front. The 14 products in the range include eye shadows, blushers and lip products in ultra-wearable shades of rose, mauve, bronze and red that are all but certain to suit all skin tones.
But it’s not just the products themselves (or their sleek black and gold packaging) that will leave you feeling good. Whether it’s the “Compassion” Skinfinish compact or the Cremesheen Glass in shade “Tolerance”, Jenner’s chosen product names serve as an important reminder of the importance of acceptance and transgender visibility.
“Caitlyn Jenner has fearlessly shared her transition with the world, and her new MAC collection continues that mission,” said the beauty brand in a statement.
