  • Giles A/W 2012

    Anita, Stylist's Beauty Assistant says:

"Without a doubt the hair created by Paul Hanlon for Toni & Guy and the make-up by Lucia Pieroni for MAC are two of my favourites looks of the season. • Jonathan Saunders A/W 2012

Fekkai Lead Stylist, Paul Hanlon created Elegant Equestrian inspired hair for Jonathan Saunders at London Fashion Week.

    Get the look:

    • Apply a generous amount of Fekkai Coiff Extra Body Mousse through the roots of the hair incorporating hair on the side of the head. Blow dry the hair super straight and off the face using a Fekkai Large Round Brush, ensuring the hair has no volume and a clean, blunt finish at the ends.
    • Divide the hair into four sections and, taking the back section, spray with Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray and pull the hair into a tight ponytail, just above the nape of the neck. Next, one at a time, pull the remaining sections into the ponytail, ensuring the hair sits flat to the head.
    • Fasten with an elastic. Once the ponytail is in place, start binding the pony from the base and continue to wrap the elastic until it is about an inch and a half from the head allowing the ponytail to sit away from the head.
    • Take sections of the hair and spritz with Fekkai Advanced Brilliant Glossing Mist to add shine and then straighten using irons, creating a glass like and silky finish.
    • Once straightened, pump a small amount of Fekkai Advanced Silky Straight Ironless Serum in the hands and smooth down the ponytail from mid lengths to ends to ensure there are no flyaways.
    • Finally, apply a fine mist of Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray to ensure hair remains flat, glossy and in place.

  • Haider Ackermann, Spring/Summer 2013

Inspired by Japanese Sumo, the hair look at the Haider Ackermann S/S ‘13 show wasshiny, graphic and immaculate. Stylist Eugene Souleiman explains how to get the look.

    Get the look:

    1. Rough dry the hair, and when completely dry, starting from the crown and working forwards section by section, apply Wella Professionals Texture Touch Reworkable Clay into the roots of the hair pushing the hair direction up and back away from the face.

    2. Apply heat to each section as you go with a hair dryer (the heat will help to distribute the product). Continue this process through the back and the sides of the hair until the whole head is covered.

    3. Using a fine tooth comb to create tension, pull back into a high ponytail. Then take a soft bristle brush and spray Wella Professionals Super Set Finishing Spray to hold in place.

    4. Secure the ponytail level with the crown but tie 25cm away from the head. Use sectioning clips up the side of the head to help hold the style in place (these will be removed later). Spray the slick backed section and ponytail with a shine spray.

    5. At the ponytail binding push the loose tie into the head and secure in place with pins creating a “wing” at the top and bottom.

    6. Spray again with shine spray. Loop the first half of the ponytail backwards and pin to the ponytail base. Then take the remaining ponytail and loop again and tie to the base section (use pins if you need to secure in place).

  • Issey Miyake, Spring/Summer 2013

The soft, bouncy hair at Issey Miyake was inspired by the unique fabric used in the collection.

    Get the look:

    1. Rough dry the hair, and when completely dry, apply Wella Professionals Create Character to the roots and massage in with hands.

    2. Dry the hair at the roots, using a vent brush to pick up the hair at the roots and pull away from the face.

    3. Repeat this process all over the head, using Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz, applying to the hair section by section until the hair is full of texture.

    4. Using only your hands, pull the hair back in to a ponytail positioned in the middle of the back of the head. Pull the ponytail back on itself and bind it to itself to form a very small bun

    5. Pull the remaining ponytail down over the bun and thread elastic through the bun and secure the ponytail again.

    6. Split the remaining ponytail in to two and divide each pony tail in to two again and knot the two strands of hair together repeatedly then tie off.

    7. Apply Wella Professional Perfect Setting Blow Dry Lotion to the knotted sections, and then apply heat first of all from a blow dryer and then secondly by clamping with hair irons.

    8. Let these sections set, then carefully release the ponytail sections and brush through with a soft bristle brush to finish.

    1. Apply an ample amount of Pantene Pro V Classic Ultra Strong Mousse to damp or dry hair. Blow dry hair away from the face.

    2. Clip away the top section of hair leaving hair in place each side from the arch of the eyebrow downwards.

    3. Spray Pantene Pro V Instant Damage Defence Conditioning Spray into the two side sections and using a fine tooth comb to smooth out the hair pull the two side sections together and secure at the back of the head.

    4. Release the top section of hair and blow dry using your fingers to lift the roots and give you even more volume.

    5. Remove hair elastic at back of the head (the sides should remain in place). Using the Pantene Pro V 2 Min Deep Repair Masque for Fine Hair as a styling aide, apply to the hair with your fingers and rake through to the ends to give a heavy textured effect.

    6. Take the top section above the slick sides and twist into a pleat forcing a quiff at the top of the head. Ensure the quiff is set in place adding more pins as needed.
