Fenty Beauty’s original Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Foundation gets a dewier, glowier remake in the new Hydrating Foundation, launching later this month.
Since Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty first launched in 2017 with 40 foundation shades, it’s become renowned for its inclusivity while delivering unrivaled products.
The hit Pro Filt’r Foundation sold out in the deepest shades in the UK within days, while beauty lovers across the world sung the velvet-matte formula’s praises.
Since then, the brand has brought us perfecting concealer, neon eyeliner, and a cult red liquid lipstick that’s blasted old classics out of the water. Whatever’s launched has always maintained its core ethos. “Fenty Beauty was created for everyone: for women of all shades, personalities, attitudes, cultures, and races,” wrote Rihanna during the brand’s debut. “I wanted everyone to feel included.”
The debut product that earned Fenty Beauty its diversity stripes, the Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Foundation has earned its place as the go-to for so many of us - especially those who’ve struggled to find the right foundation shade for their skin tone. But for many (myself included), the formula is slightly too matte for drier skin types.
Luckily, a new hydrating foundation is set to launch in two weeks, as revealed on the @fentybeauty Instagram page yesterday. In an easy-to-transport tube with a pump applicator, the formula includes grapeseed oil and sodium hyaluronate to nourish skin, with the same promise of sweat and humidity resistance as the original soft matte formula. It’ll be available in the same number of shades, too.
The texture is described as being “light as air” - and a new hydrating primer is launching alongside it to make the application as flawless and nurturing as possible.
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundation, £27, and Pro Filt’r Hydrating Primer, £24, both launch August 15 at Harvey Nichols and Boots.
Set a reminder for your glowiest skin, ever.
