After first launching in 2014 and then disappearing, Gucci Beauty is making a highly anticipated comeback.

There’s something quite satisfying when a fashion house launches make-up – just look at brands like Burberry, Armani and Louboutin – so when the Stylist team heard Gucci Beauty was making a comeback, we sat up.

This isn’t the brand’s first foray into the world of luxury beauty though. It originally first launched products back in 2014 when Frida Giannini was creative director (AKA the person responsible for the green dress J-Lo wore on the cover of W magazine in 2013, and who was known for her glam Seventies vibe).

The products weren’t around for long though, but now Gucci Beauty is back with a vengeance and the launch was officially announced today (3 May) in New York.

This time it’s happening under creative director Alessandro Michele, who’s been at the helm since 2015. The new beauty chapter sees Thomas de Kluyver named as Gucci’s global make-up artist, and the first products available will be a 58-strong line up of lipsticks available in three different formulas.

First up there’s Rouge à Lèvres Satin, which (unsurprisingly) have a satin finish, Rouge à Lèvres Voile which has a sheer finish, and Baume à Lèvres which is transparent lip balm.

The campaign shots to go alongside the initial launch are yet to be released, but it was shot by renowned photographer Martin Parr.

Gucci Beauty can be bought on from tomorrow (4 May) and it’ll be available in Harrods and on from 28 May.

We can’t wait to see what the future of Gucci Beauty looks like. Watch this space.
