Celebrity make-up artist Gucci Westman has poured her expertise into a new, clean cosmetics range. Here, ahead of the UK launch, she talks Stylist through her 6-product system.

Make-up artist ranges are stealing the spotlight. First came Charlotte Tilbury, then Pat McGrath, and now Gucci Westman.

But rather than producing statement palettes and shimmers, her brand Westman Atelier is all about complexion. “I thought I’d start with skincare but I had dinner with Bobbi [Brown] and she told me I needed to do what people know me for, which is beautiful make-up,” she tells us.

Even if you don’t yet know her name, you’ll know her faces – the likes of Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz and Gwyneth Paltrow. “I always test any new product on the models I work with because I need to know how it performs in real life, how it will age and oxidise,” she says.

Wholesome formulas are important to Westman: “Having rosacea was a huge catalyst for me so I use the most natural ingredients that I can without sacrificing performance.”

Here, she reveals how her six-product system works.

  • Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick

“I like to use these on lips, cheeks and eyes. If you don’t have some colour you look like you’ve forgotten something.”

  • Westman Atelier Beauty Butter Powder Bronzer

“This gives you warmth and glow. Use it with a blending brush to guide your placement.”

  • Westman Atelier Face Trace Contour Stick

“Great for adding colour, use this directly from the bullet.”

  • Westman Atelier Lit Up Highlight Stick

“The active ingredients lock in moisture so your skin looks glowing and luminous all day.”

  • Westman Atelier Super Loaded Tinted Highlight

“Ultra-hydrating, this creates amplified skin that’s simple and accessible for everyone.”

  • Westman Atelier Vital Foundation Stick

“Use these as concealers or foundations – a lighter colour around your T-zone and eyes and a warmer one around the perimeter, then patch together.”
