After teasing its arrival for months, Beyoncé’s new hair care brand has launched, with the first products available to buy online.

Designed for all hair types and textures, the cruelty-free Foundation Collection range includes a clarifying shampoo and scalp scrub, moisture-sealing lotion, hydrating shampoo, reconstructing treatment mask, moisturising deep conditioner, nourishing hair oil and a fermented rice and rose protein ritual, with prices ranging from £25-£42. There’s also a makeup bag and “shaking vessel” designed to help you use the protein ritual, and a hydrating conditioner that’s coming soon. And this is all available to buy in the UK, which is music to our ears.

“The journey of creating Cécred has taken years, and I’m so proud to finally reveal what we’ve been working on,” says founder and chairwoman Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. “As a Black founder, it was important to me to concentrate on where I saw the greatest need for healthy haircare and to place scientific innovation and product performance above all else. We started by prioritizing the needs of textured hair like mine, along with other types and textures that need more moisture and strength. My entire life and career, I’ve worn my hair in so many different ways: natural, flat-ironed, braids, coloured, weaves, wigs. I want everyone to have the freedom to express their hair in ways that make them feel good, so I began by creating the essentials for hair and scalp health. My vision is to be an inclusive force of excellence in the haircare industry while celebrating hair rituals across global cultures, and helping dispel hair myths and misconceptions on all sides.”

In a post shared on her Instagram earlier this month, Beyoncé announced: “Hair is sacred. The journey begins Feb 20. Visit Cecred.com.”

The post itself was a trailer that showed old clips of her mum Tina Knowles’s salon Headliners, which she opened in Houston, Texas back in 1990. These clips were intercut with snapshot scenes of people of colour with curly, coily and kinky hair, including Beyoncé, having their hair done in the modern day.
