She adds: “The hair is going in a direction that it wouldn’t normally go because of a little thing called gravity, so it’s important you prep the hair to give it some memory. Prepping the hair is about creating a foundation for the style you want to make – like building a house, it’s all about the base. My favourite product to do that with is mousse.

“If you can’t quite get the hairdryer and brush to work at the same time, there are ways to cheat this look at home. Use a heated brush to wrap around the ends of the hair, flicking those ends upwards. Before releasing, use a cool shot of air to lock the style in place. A spray will help to really seal this style in. My favourite hot brushes would be the Dyson Airwrap if you want to splurge or the Shark SmoothStyle Hot Brush if you don’t.”
