Reader Question:

@StylistMagazine Make-up in a rush in the morning, what do you recommend as the priority, primer/concealer/foundation/powder? #beautyadvice

Answer from Stylist’s deputy beauty editor, Samantha Flowers:

Who has the time to do the full works in the morning? I for one would rather an extra few minutes under the duvet than at the dressing table and so multi-tasking products have become my morning saviour. BB creams have been big news in Korea for years because of all the benefits they offer, these skincare/makeup hybrids even out the complexion like a tinted moisturiser, cover blemishes like a concealer, contain hydrating properties like a moisturiser, act as a primer, protect from UV rays and contain anti-ageing skincare ingredients. I rate Clinique Age Defence BB Cream SPF 30, £30 – it does all of the above and leaves a light powdery finish. If you are going to invest in one, it’s worth spending the time finding one that suits your skin so take a look at MAC, Garnier and Une who all offer BB’s.

If however, it really is a question of just picking one of the above then for me it would be concealer. I personally can’t leave the house without it, in particular Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit, £23.50 – it brightens and conceals dark circles and lasts better than any other I’ve tried. Add a touch of mascara and blush and you’re good to go.
