Jennifer Aniston has shared her budget beauty trick with the world

There’s no denying it: Jennifer Aniston gives good face. Clear, smooth skin has been her thing (along with iconic hairstyles) ever since she first appeared on our screens as Rachel in Friends all those years ago, and she still grabs the attention of beauty editors today.

Being one of Hollywood’s most famous women, you might expect that Aniston bathes in the legendary Crème de la Mer (selling at an eye-watering £1,500 a tub) every night, or something similarly luxurious. But, as a matter of fact, the actor prefers to stick to the high-street when stocking up on her beauty goods.

Speaking to Refinery29, Aniston reveals: “I love the L’Oréal Lash Out Mascara,” she tells them. “And Neutrogena [Transparent Facial Bar] soap.”

The latter is something of an understatement: in fact, she’s been using the cult beauty product since she was a teenager.

“I've been using it since high school,” Aniston says to the Mail Online. “I wake up and wash my face with Neutrogena face soap. I use a serum and then a Dr Hauschka day cream – that’s it!”

The news comes as little surprise to the 80-year-old cosmetics company. A spokeswoman said (we imagine smugly): “We have known for a while that Jennifer is a fan.”

Not widely available in the UK, the Neutrogena Facial Bar sells for $2.99 in the US – and it’s fragrance-free and hypoallergenic, making it ideal for all skin types.

To use it, you need to wet your face and hands with lukewarm water, and then massage the soap’s lather onto your skin with a gentle, circular motion.

Once that’s done, rinse it clean and pat dry with a soft towel.

Writing about the cleanser on its website, Neutrogena vows that it “removes excess oil and then rinses clean without leaving any pore-clogging residue, [making for] clean, clear, healthy-looking skin”.

You can buy your own stash on eBay for £5.21 – or, you know, take a trip to one of Stylist’s favourite US cities for a holiday and a shopping session.
