The supermodel sits down with Stylist’s beauty director Shannon Peter to share her wisdom.

She may be one of the world’s most famous supermodels, with a ridiculously impressive list of achievements under her belt and an inner circle that reads like a Business Of Fashion ‘most influential’ index, but Kate Moss comes across as one of the most humble souls you could ever meet.

Kate Moss no longer thinks that “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”

In fact, when Stylist was sat in a Tokyo penthouse waiting to meet her, not only did she glide in with the kind of sunny smile that would put the most anxious mind at ease, she also peppered her softly spoken manner with a wit as sharp as her cheekbones. We tapped up the eternal muse for the beauty titbits she’s picked up over the years…

“Hairstylists Sam McKnight and Guido Palau showed me the best trick for volume. I just tease and pinch the crown of my head using my fingers and a brush, to give my hair lift. I also learned to dry my hair almost completely and then tuck it behind my ears. Then when it’s dry, it gives me a little bit of a wave. It’s so easy.”

“Charlotte Tilbury got me started on sheet masks. She uses them on my face before make-up, but when I’m rushing in the morning, I don’t feel like I have enough time. For me, they’re more about relaxation. I use one when I have some spare time, usually on Sundays when I’m in bed watching TV.”

“Val Garland always uses a jade roller on me and it really works. I use it to de-puff and for its lymphatic drainage properties. I take so much more care with my skincare these days.”

Naomi Campbell is always telling me where to go for good treatments. She gives me make-up tips too, but to be honest, I don’t always listen. When I was younger I wore a lot of black eyeliner and she was always like, ‘Take it off, take it off’, but I loved it too much.”

“My sister Lottie and I never share beauty advice. She is who she is, she has her own distinct personality and I have mine. We’re so different and she has a really good look going on. Everyone does their own stuff in their own way.”

Kate knows better than to give daughter Lila beauty advice.

“I don’t dare give my daughter Lila Grace advice, but I love watching her do her make-up. She knows how to use gloss and highlighters. Sometimes I think, ‘How has she done that?’ It never looks the same on me.”
