Nothing brightens a dreary midweek morning quite like news of a top notch makeup collaboration, especially when said collaboration involves two of the biggest brands on the planet.
With this in mind, we gift to you the announcement of an upcoming sponsored_longform between luxury fashion house Balmain and makeup giant L’Oreal Paris, who are joining forces to create a new and limited edition collection of lipsticks.
The surprise announcement was made by L’Oreal Paris this morning and marks both the brand’s first foray into collaborating with a fashion house as well as Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing’s first ever beauty collection.
Details on the new lipstick range are being kept firmly under wraps, although L’Oreal revealed there would be 12 new shades released under the infamous Color Riche line, which currently sells one lipstick worldwide every three seconds.
There will also be a “lipstick jewel edition” of three star shades that will be sold exclusively in Balmain Paris stores and select retailers across the world.
Rousteing will be lending his creative direction to the colours, pack design and advertising campaign and, if the success of his sell out Balmain X H&M collaboration from 2015 is anything to go by, he will ensure the lipsticks fly off the shelves.
Rumour has it that Rousteing’s close friendship with the Kardashian clan could have an influence over his choice of shades, with at least one Kim-inspired nude being likely to make an appearance in the final 12 shades...
The collaboration will be launching in early September to coincide with Paris Fashion Week.
