Take your cue from the new royal and invest in a nude polish.

Meghan Markle’s Givenchy dress may have stolen the show at her wedding, but it was the Duchess of Sussex’s make-up, hair and nails that were of most interest to eagle-eyed beauty fans.

Keeping her make-up minimal and her hair swept up in a classic bridal ‘do, Markle also went down the subtle route when it came to her nail look, opting for a muted pink shade.

Although we’ve had no official confirmation of the product Meghan used (or the nail artist responsible), reports suggest that her varnish of choice was in fact the Queen’s favourite, Essie Ballet Slippers. Her Majesty, who apparently hates non-natural looking nails, will only wear the soft pink shade.

The Duchess of Cambridge is also a nude nail and an Essie fan, choosing to wear Essie’s Allure, an even sheerer pink, for her wedding day in 2011.

The perfect hue if you want something elegant yet understated, a nude polish is both flattering and super-wearable. On the hunt for a new one? We’ve rounded up our favourites for summer…
