Is there a better time to debut a beauty transformation than the Oscars red carpet?

Emilia Clarke doesn’t think so. The actress arrived at the 91st Academy Awards with a short, sharp and darkly-hued bob. “Blondes have more fun eh?! Well I will see about this fine #oscar2019 evening….. let the good times roll,” Clarke posted on Instagram.

It was bobs all round, with Charlize Theron also debuting a cropped look on the red carpet. Elsewhere, celebrities opted for soft waves, as seen on Octavia Spencer, Jennifer Lopez and Amy Adams.

Slicked-back ponytails and updos also proved popular, as favoured by country singer and Grammy Award-winning artist Kacey Mugraves, Emma Stone and Jennifer Hudson, often paired with dramatic eye looks and glowing skin.
