It’s being released to celebrate the Supreme Court justice’s 86th birthday in March.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg is an icon in the realms of justice, women’s rights and people who have the ability to do a full body strength workout at the age of 85, as seen in the opening scenes of the documentary RBG.

Now, the Supreme Court judge is set to be an icon in the beauty industry, too. A new lipstick from California brand Lipslut has been released in celebration of the ceiling-smashing legal mind, currently back at work after a surgery removing cancerous nodules from her lungs.

Dubbed NOTORIOUS RBG, the matte liquid lip colour is “an iconic, brilliant, bad b*tch berry”, voted on by Lipslut’s 22,000 followers and available for pre-order now. It’s fuschia, it’s fierce, and it’s absolutely fabulous.

The lipstick is on sale for $19.95 (£15.29) and will ship to customers in March to coincide with Ginsburg’s 86th birthday. Half of the proceeds will go towards charitable organisations, with each customer choosing from a range of options supported by Ginsburg - including the American Civil Liberties Union, Equal Rights Advocates and She Should Run - at the checkout.

Lipslut was a business forged in the fires of the Trump presidency by college student Katie Sones. She noticed that her friends were feeling outraged by the news and yet weren’t, or didn’t feel that they were able, to donate to charitable organisations. “So I decided to bridge that gap by creating a product that could give back,” Sones has said

Her range of lipsticks, which include a liquid matte called F*CK TRUMP and a “cool, calm and collected” red called F*CK KAVANAUGH have raised more than $200,000 (£153,216) for charities since they were first launched in 2018.

“I know a lot of brands really don’t take hard stances on political and social issues,” Sones has said. “But I think we’re showing the makeup industry that consumers want to support a brand that has an opinion. It feels pressing.”

The Notorious RBG

Need even more ‘Notorious’ RBG in your life? There are so, so many other products you can buy emblazoned with the Supreme Court justice’s face. There are Ruth Bader Ginsburg notebooks, Ruth Bader Ginsburg stickers, Ruth Bader Ginsburg mugs and Ruth Bader Ginsburg sweatshirts.

There’s even a Ruth Bader Ginsburg prayer candle, so you can hold vigil over her health and vitality and pray for her continued service in the Supreme Court for many, many years to come.

Though, judging by her strength and fitness as seen in her workout routines in RBG, she might not need it.
