Perplexed about what beauty essentials to pack for your summer holiday? We feel you. Find out which hardworking hero products our beauty team never jet off without.

The one thing that really annoys us about summer holidays? Having to edit down our beauty stash to those can’t-live-without products to take in your carry-on. For the Stylist beauty desk, it’s even more of a challenge (the struggle is real…) Whether it’s supercharged skin quenchers to counteract jet-lag, hardworking sun cream to ward off deadly UVs, or just a pretty fragrance to ease the switch into ‘holiday mode’, here are the products our team always pack in their suitcases.

Stylist beauty director, Anita Bhagwandas

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge - £22

“This is the ultimate shadow/blusher/lip gloss to take pop in your travel bag. It’s pretty much all the make-up you need on holiday and doesn’t slip or slide off when you apply it on top of loads of SPF.”

Seoulista Beauty Super Hydration Instant Facial - £7.99

“These sheet masks are incredible for using on long-haul flights and during your travels to replenish skin that’s been parched by the sun and high altitudes. (They’re also ideal for a hangover - just saying.)”

Stylist beauty editor, Lucy Partington

Ultrasun Family SPF30 - £15

“I won’t use any other SPF – it’s billed as a once-a-day protection product, but I still like to top it up every few hours, just in case. It’s not heavy or sticky, it absorbs quickly and it stops my paler-than-pale skin getting burnt to a crisp.”

Tom Ford Neroli Portofino All Over Body Spray - £46

“I like to wear something different to my everyday scent when I’m on holiday, but equally don’t want anything too heavy or suffocating. This body spray fits the bill perfectly: it’s zesty and fresh, but not over-powering or headache-inducing. And then whenever I smell it when I’m back in the UK it takes me back to sunnier climates.”

Stylist junior beauty writer, Ava Welsing-Kitcher

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse, £18

“This hat trick oil works wonders on hair, skin and body. I slather myself in it from head to toe, and the divine magnolia, orange blossom and vanilla scent just smells like a holiday in a bottle. I keep one on my desk and sneak a whiff whenever I feel the wanderlust coming on…”

Davines The Renaissance Circle Hair Mask, £8

“If my hair’s feeling frazzled from humidity or the sun, the babassu butter and yellow clay in this help to restore it. I’ll mix a small dollop with water to use as a leave-in conditioner or to protect my hair from pool water, and it’s a miracle worker every time.”
