Festival hair: an easy five-minute style to perfect in your tent

Published

Much as we love festivals, a stuffy tent is hardly the ideal climate to work a little styling magic.

There are no sockets, the light’s poor, you’re probably sharing with at least three other comatose companions and you can barely stand up straight – let alone move around and see how your hair’s shaping up.

Luckily, Bristol-based stylist Nigit Begum (nigitbegum.comis here to help.

She’s got a simply yet striking look up her sleeve which is perfect for quick and easy styling.

This braided glitter crown can be whisked up in just five minutes, even if you’re knee-deep in mud amid a sea of sleeping bags.

And better still, it delivers instant punch.

Find out how to re-create it yourself by following Nigit’s step-by-step tutorial.

The split

Middle part your hair from the forehead to the nape of your neck, to split it evenly into two halves. Tie each half into a bunch to keep them apart.

The plait

Now, plait both hair sections. Take one plait across to the base of the opposite plait and pin it in, right by the scalp. Do exactly the same with the second plait.

The glitter

Not the hair is tucked away from your face, it’s time to jazz up the style with a little detail.

Spray colourful streaks of glitter over and above the braided section, so that when the party lights shine on it, your style will sparkle.

Et voilà: your go-to festival look.
