Have you ever seen your mum suck in her cheeks, tilt her head and thrust a moody, duck-face pout towards her phone?

For many, the idea of their parents sharing flatteringly-lit selfies with their friends online is unthinkable - especially those whose mums still write text messages like they're sending a telegram (sorry mum, but it's true).

Imagine if your mum recreated every selfie you take

Often mums who've followed their selfie-taking offspring onto Facebook or Instagram will be the first to offer their daughters validation with a like, a heart or a “beautiful” on photos but they themselves tend to limit their own visual presence to a tiny profile picture - that probably features you.

Now, a group of mums has stepped out from behind their keyboards to parody their selfie-loving daughters for a spot-on video.

Created by the folks at Elite Daily, it shows the mums, clearly bemused by the very notion of taking photos of themselves, put on their kids' clothes and mimick their signature poses for snaps they then send to their daughters for approval.

The reactions of their image-conscious children is priceless. “Mom killing it!” one daughter says, before adding: “WTF! You look like you've seen a ghost.”
