“A graduated bob won’t suit your nose”

If someone has a big nose or a heavy chin, a graduated bob with lots of hard angles is really unflattering because it accentuates those hard angles. Equally, if you don’t have a chin, a graduated bob that starts at your hairline is never going to work because as it comes down and grazes your chin underneath your ear, it’ll draw attention to the fact that you don’t have a chin. If the hair is a little bit longer and kicking out, you’ll look at the hair more than the chin. That’s when I’ll step in. I’d never say, “Oh my god, no – you’ve got a huge nose or no chin.” I’d diplomatically try to steer them away from it and offer alternatives – make them love my version better. I want people to feel fabulous about their hair. – Helena
