Author Liane Moriarty, the brains behind bestseller Big Little Lies, has teased details of her highly anticipated next novel, Nine Perfect Strangers.
Big Little Lies may have first aired over a year ago, but the female-centred drama was so well-received that people are still talking about it – and the impending second season with the one and only Meryl Streep.
Which is why the news of author Liane Moriarty’s next novel, Nine Perfect Strangers, reaching books shelves in a matter of months has got everyone in a bit of tizz.
Not only did the author basically mic drop the news on Facebook, but she also (in true Moriarty-style) left us wanting to know a lot more about the thriller.
“Could 10 days at a health resort really change you forever? These nine perfect strangers are about to find out…,” the author teased.
And, of course, people have taken to Twitter to share their excitement.
“Clear your reading calendars for September - the new Liane Moriarty novel Nine Perfect Strangers will be out and it sounds amazing!,” one person tweeted.
“Ooh, Liane Moriarty has a new book coming out in September! Can’t wait for Nine Perfect Strangers,” another wrote, along with a video.
Another tweeted: “Liane Moriarty book in September. Liane Moriarty book in September. THIS September, oh my! Oh my! It’s called Nine Perfect Strangers. I need a lie down.”
And the marketing manager of Penguin Books UK shared a snap of the original manuscript, writing “Needless to say, this is excellent.”
In the meantime, we can await the film release of The Husband’s Secret – Moriarty’s 2013 thriller – starring Blake Lively, telling the story of a wife, mother and perfectionist who discovers her husband has been lying to her … a secret that leads to murder and lies.
It’s not been confirmed whether we’ll be seeing Nine Perfect Strangers on the small screen anytime soon, but we’ve certainly got our fingers crossed.
Nine Perfect Strangers will be available to buy in the UK from 4 October.
