2019 has already been a brilliant year for female writers, including Sally Rooney and Michelle Obama who won big at the British Book Awards.

And we’re about to be treated to another much-anticipated memoir from one of the coolest people in the world: Debbie Harry.

A former Playboy Bunny in New York, Harry became a regular on the underground punk scene before forming new wave band Blondie with Chris Stein in 1974. They went on to release hits including Heart of Glass, Rapture, Call me and Atomic – which remain total bangers to this day.

But, over her 50-year career span, Harry never penned her memoirs… until now. The singer and actor has announced that she will be releasing her first autobiography Face It in October.

Harry has opened up before about how the world’s obsession with her striking looks made her decide to take down all the mirrors in her house. And, she’s provided some powerful feminist quotes over the years. But it sounds like this autobiography is going to be a fascinating deep dive into the life of the Queen of Punk.
