The four new Harry Potter eBooks will give us a taste of the Hogwarts curriculum.
We may have missed out on our Hogwarts acceptance letter (probably got lost in the post, right?), but there’s something about the magic J.K. Rowling’s school for witches and wizards which makes us wonder what it would be like to sit in class alongside Harry and his classmates: what would our favourite magical creature be? How good would we really be in Defence against the Dark Arts? Would our potions end up a health hazard?
Well wonder no more, fellow Harry Potter fans. Pottermore Publishing is set to release four new eBooks next month, each dedicated to a subject on the Hogwarts curriculum, from potions and herbology to divination and astronomy.
Inspired by the British Library exhibition and its companion book, Harry Potter: A History of Magic, the short non-fiction titles will give fans an insight into what life at Hogwarts really consisted of – and will allow fans to dive into the history and folklore of the much loved series.
The first two books, A Journey Through Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts and A Journey Through Potions and Herbology, will be released on the 27th of June.
In a statement on the website, Pottermore described the eBooks as “a chance to absorb the colourful characters and curious incidents of the real history of magic in a more compact form – perfect for the train or whatever Muggle transport you prefer”.
The stories will also be accompanied by brand illustrations by London-based artist Rohan Daniel Eason, whose beautiful line drawings are sure to provide the books with that extra sprinkle of magic.
The stories are available to pre-order now, so crack out your robes and get ready to go full Hermione Granger.
It’s time to get those magic skills up to scratch.
