Actor, writer and producer Mindy Kaling is smashing it at the moment, with two highly-anticipated productions set to be released this summer.
Firstly, Late Night, in which Mindy stars alongside Emma Thompson, is released in cinemas on 7 June. The story follows a late-night talk show host (Thompson) hire a female writer in an attempt to save her career, and it looks absolutely hilarious.
Following the film’s release, Four Weddings and a Funeral– a 10-episode series based on the 1994 film, which was co-created by Kaling – will be available to stream on Hulu in July.
Kaling has now shared another bit of exciting news, with the announcement of a new project with Amazon. After the success of her first two books, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? and Why Not Me?, Kaling is penning a collection of personal essays that will be published through Amazon.

The essays will explore how she navigates through her career while being a mother.
“It’s so exciting for me to share the secrets of how I balance being a professional writer, actor, and single mom in a new collection of essays I’m writing through @AmazonPub!,”she wrote on Twitter.
“I mean, it would be so exciting to share those secrets. I don’t have them,” Kaling added. “Like, not even close. This morning I bribed my baby with a remote control to get my car keys back. But I do have funny stories about my life and I can’t wait for you to read them.”
Amazon have said: “Next Summer, best-selling author, actor, and producer @mindykaling will offer her fresh take on life, love, and single mommy-hood in a series of bite-sized essays spanning the past few years. Coming soon to Amazon Original Stories.
Fans have shared their excitement over news of the publication, which is due to be released in 2020.
One wrote: “Prayers answered. I’ve been anxiously waiting for a follow up to Why Not Me.”
Another added: “Oh my God. Thanks for clarifying. I was beginning to think you’d gone to the dark side of maternal perfection on us and I was about to abandon all hope.”
And a third wrote: “Have we noticed that Mindy Kaling has series on Hulu, a movie from Netflix, and a book from Amazon? She is a force!”
