Put down your novel – Stylist is releasing a book of inspiring life lessons just in time for International Women’s Day.
It’s a truth universally acknowledged that hearing empowering words of wisdom from inspiring women can change the course of your life.
When Stylist launched our Life Lessons event series back in 2014, it was with the aim of getting women together to share knowledge and key learnings, focussing on the question, “If you could share one lesson from your life with every woman, what would it be?” From Arianna Huffington to Nadiya Hussein, women from all walks of life took to the stage to motivate and entertain.
Fast forward and Stylist is thrilled to announce that, on 1 March 2018 – just in time for International Women’s Day – you’ll be able to read the wisdom of 25 of the brightest and best women in one fiercely feminist book.
Life Lessons from Remarkable Women: Tales of Triumph, Failure and Learning to Love Yourself addresses every aspect of a modern woman’s life, from love and loss through to confidence-building and empowerment, with contributors ranging from sportswomen to entrepreneurs, politicians to writers.
Roxane Gay, author of books including Bad Feminist, Difficult Women and Hungry, has contributed an essay on growing into her own ambition. Journalist Pandora Sykes shares how her sister’s cancer diagnosis inspired her to embrace life’s little pleasures, while Reni Eddo-Lodge unpacks the importance of saying no, Bobbi Brown discusses the joy of starting over, and Katie Piper recalls how she taught herself to be confident.
Other contributors include Stylist columnist Lucy Mangan, actress Romola Garai, campaigner Nimco Ali, radio presenter Clara Amfo and comedian Bella Younger.
