If there’s one thing we love more than curling up with a good book, it’s curling up with a good book and a glass of wine.
Which is why we were positively over the moon to learn that one wine company has recognised that the marriage between literature and vino is one which should be treasured, nourished, and encouraged to blossom.
The Matteo Correggia wine company has created a range of wines called Librottiglia – and they’ve all been carefully wrapped with a gripping short story.
Each dinky bottle contains just enough for you to pour yourself two and a half glasses, which is absolutely ideal for a cosy night in with a book.
And a lot of thought has been put into the short stories selected for the project, too.
“Characteristics of each wine are matched to a narrative genre to create a perfectly balanced experience based on the sensory impressions and scenarios imagined in the stories,” the company explained in a video about the product.

Each short story has been perfectly paired with the type of wine it accompanies.
There’s The Frog in the Belly, a magical fable guaranteed to capture your imagination. There’s The Murder, which vows to be so gripping it’s impossible to put it down. Or, if you’re in the mood for romance, there’s I Love You. Forget Me.

Whichever tale you choose – be it penned by Patrizia Laquidara, Regina Nadaes Marques, or Danilo Zanelli – you’re guaranteed a pretty-as-a-picture wine bottle, making it the perfect gift for friends and family.
Or, if you’re feeling in need of a cosy winter’s evening in, you could always treat yo’self.
However, as is so often the case, there is one downside; all of the stories have been written in Italian. So, to enjoy the experience to the absolute max, you’d probably need to be fluent in the language of love.

If you’re not, however, don’t let that put you off; after all, Louis Theroux once said that everyone should learn to drive a car, cook one dish very well, and speak a second language.
