There's not much that gets us in the festive spirit like a Christmas market.
The sweet smell of pine trees, cheering renditions of carols and spicy taste of mulled wine combine to make these chilly evenings one of our favourite parts of the build up to December 25th.
And this year, there's a selection of new, alternative markets popping up with a variety of creative stalls and inventive shopping opportunities on offer. Take a look at our pick of London's 10 best Christmas markets and festive events for 2014.
If ice-skating, horse drawn carriages and big, shiny rides are your bag then we suggest you avoid Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park and get down to Winterville in Victoria Park. There's even a roller disco. We've already booked our tickets.
Open from December 1st until January 1st in Victoria Park.
Nearest Tube: Mile End
Shopping in central London at any time of the year is fairly hellish but add a dollop of stressed gift buyers and you've got yourself a recipe for an awful Christmas shopping experience. Thankfully, Selfridges have once again opened up Le Chalet - their rooftop restaurant kitted out like the perfect après-shop environment, where you can glug a mulled wine or several.
Open 11am-11pm daily
Nearest Tube: Bond Street/ Marble Arch
The Winter Cabin at the York & Albany
Say the words cosy cabin to us and we envisage the York & Albany's exquisite-looking toasty affair. As it's so popular, it's advised to book more than a week in advance. We can't wait to go hang out and enjoy a Christmas cocktail right here.
Open until February 2015
Nearest Tube: Camden Town
Enchanted Woodland Syon Park
Instead of rushing around and purchasing important presents, how about just spending some time in a beautiful enchanted forest. OK, we don't know that it's officially enchanted but this walk around Syon Park when it's lit up at night does look pretty magical.
Open from Friday 21st November to Sunday 7th December 2014
Nearest station: Isleworth
Courtyard classics at Hush in Mayfair
If we haven’t had our annual viewing of Elf at Christmas then we consider the whole holiday a write off. But thankfully, seeing as it’s no longer being shown on Channel 4, we can still watch it at Hush in Mayfair in their festive courtyard. Showing seasonal films from late November until late March, their film screenings include festive favourites such as Love Actually, The Holiday, and Frozen. We’ve already booked our tickets.
Hush’s Classics in the Courtyard pop-up every Saturday at 7pm with a £10 cover charge per table. Tickets can be booked on 020 7659 1500.

Diggin' Design Christmas Fair

Belgravia Christmas Sunday
For a more upmarket yet boutique Christmas market experience, head over to the fancy Belgravia. The pop-up market is located on Elizabeth Street, where you'll find stalls lined with arts and crafts, and other gifts for friends and family. A bit like if Richard Curtis did Christmas markets.
On December 7th
