Doris and Edward Bair are back.

From heart-warming tales of carrots to loveable monsters under the bed, every year Christmas-themed adverts pluck at our heartstrings without fail.

And now that we’ve entered November the adverts for Christmas 2018 are starting to roll in (rejoice!).

First up: Heathrow Airport.

And you guessed it: Doris and Edward, everyone’s favourite teddy bear couple, are back.

The short film, set to Paul Young’s Everytime You Go Away, sees the adorable couple (who first graced our screens in 2016) enjoying their retirement in Florida before deciding to return home to the UK for Christmas.

The advert starts with Edward enjoying the sunshine while sporting a pair of sunglasses and bright yellow trunks, while Doris is putting up a Christmas tree in an Hawaiian shirt and retro visor.

But then the couple’s relaxed mood suddenly switches after Edward opens the fridge to find a boxed ‘turkey dinner’ from Auntie Cherry. And then the Christmas tree, that Doris has spent a long time decorating, falls over.

To make themselves feel better the pair Skype their family back home in the UK. The sight of Christmas tree lights, knitted jumpers and a cosy set up, makes the couple abandon the sunshine state for Christmas in London.

“The nation’s love for Doris and Edward is overwhelming and has been since we first met them in 2016,” said Heathrow’s chief commercial officer.

“For many people, being close to the ones we love is what really makes Christmas special. This is why we see the Bairs return to their family from warmer climes, as many of Heathrow’s passengers make similar journeys home for the festive season.”

And it has made people cry:

It’s official: Christmas is coming.
