The rise of flower therapy
Need a break from staring at a screen or worrying about work? Book yourself into a flower-arranging class at one of London’s coolest florists
Boutique London florist Rebel Rebel’s creations are as adventurous as their name. Using mostly seasonal, often British blooms, their imaginative designs have found favour with the likes of Dior and Stella McCartney – and their regular evening workshops are hugely popular too. Arrange flowers in a vase, create a bouquet or weave a flower crown while enjoying wine and snacks (aka the dream). From £75; 117 Mare St, E8
Urban Flower Co

Run by botanical florist Matthew Richardson, the seasonal workshops allow you get creative with a colourful mix of fresh, dried and dyed flowers, with a big focus on using foliage to combat the chaos of urban living. Expect drinks and music too. From £60; 47 Park Rd, N8
Looking for an antidote to soulless bouquet deliveries? Check out Petalon Flowers, run by husband and wife Florence and James Kennedy. Each week, they design two fresh seasonal bunches that are low in wastage and sustainably delivered by bicycle – and you can recreate these lovely wildflower bouquets at their workshops every Thursday night. Soul-lifting stuff. From £80; The Old Dairy, 71 Powerscroft Rd, E5
’s fitness editor Meriam
has found a strength-training hack for full-on weeks
I love a good gym-based workout, but sometimes it’s just not possible to fit a class into my already-packed schedule (or, you know, I decide to go for dinner with friends instead). So I love these little 3lb weights, which I use to sneak in strength training on busy weeks.
Strap them to your ankles before walking to the office in the morning (or while dashing to your chosen restaurant come 7pm), and you’ll do a leg workout without even thinking about it. They can also be worn to add resistance when Officially Exercising – they’re great for leg lifts – and they’re light enough to travel with. All-round wonders. £14, P.Volve
This nu-gen wellness festival has something for everyone – whatever the ‘w’ word means to you
