Our beauty director’s favourite moisturiser now comes as an eye cream (and she’s besotted)

When a beauty expert says a product “gives skin a really plump, almost juicy feel”, we sit up and listen. That’s exactly what Stylist’s beauty director Shannon Peter declares of her go-to moisturiser, Bobbi Brown’s Vitamin Enriched Face Base (£44.50), with its skin-friendly cocktail of shea butter plus vitamins B, C and E. She’s not the only fan: one pot sells every minute around the world. So when a version designed specifically for eyes was announced, Shannon was a little excited.

The new Vitamin Enriched Eye Base contains all the goodness of the original formula but is also charged with caffeine to brighten tired under-eyes, as well as moisturising hyaluronic acid. “I’ve become so besotted, I’ve started taking it with me wherever I go,” Shannon says. “It’s great for perking up Zoom-fatigued eyes, soothing the fallout of a bout of hay fever or even as a bedtime ritual – I layer it on extra thick at night as a makeshift eye mask. If you’re looking for a starter eye cream, something to drench flakiness away or a brilliant base to help your eyeshadow pop, you can’t go wrong with this.” £34, Bobbi Brown

The Edinburgh Fringe is cancelled – but we’ve still got Shedinburgh

Yes, that’s right, Shedinburgh. Like the Edinburgh Fringe… but in sheds. With the world-famous comedy and theatre festival suspended this year (the first time it’s been cancelled in its 73-year history – thanks again, Covid-19), Fleabag producer Francesca Moody has stepped up to organise a virtual version. And unsurprisingly, it’s nothing short of genius.

Kicking off next Friday, Shedinburgh will see performers including Sara Pascoe, Yolanda Mercy, Rosie Jones and Deborah Frances-White livestream one-off sets from sheds around the UK. Tickets go on sale at 2pm today, but you’d better move fast: once they’re gone, they’re gone, and there’ll be no opportunity to catch up on performances after they’ve happened. The best part? All proceeds from ticket sales go towards supporting new artists taking work to the Fringe in 2021 – meaning your purchase could help introduce the next Phoebe Waller-Bridge to the world. 14 August-5 September; from £4; shedinburgh.com
