Like many of us, Bei Jeen Low found herself with some time to kill over lockdown. And so the artist and designer from London decided to channel her energy into a new painting project. “My experience of lockdown was filled with everything from the mundane to the hilarious,” Low tells Stylist Loves. “This series is an ode to the many moments that became my life during the most unpredictable time.”
The result is a collection of abstract artworks featuring chalky, earthy shades teamed with pops of rich colours (think beige and raspberry pink, stone and forest green or ecru and ruby red), which Low sells through her art and design practice Studio B-Low. For unique, made-to-order paintings, the prices are remarkably accessible: each A3 work can be picked up for just £39.90. “I frequently struggle to find beautiful pieces for my own home that are actually affordable, so I love creating art that I can offer at prices that are normally reserved for posters and prints,” says Low. Fans of her pared-back aesthetic (there are 11,000 of them on Instagram) should also check out the Shop page on Studio B-Low’s website, where the former interiors buyer curates an edit of pieces she’s either bought for her own home or has her eye on, from Swedish shell vases to woven seagrass baskets. Interior inspiration, sorted.
