Make leg day a whole lot easier with this quick three-move workout

When it comes to leg day, chances are you’re ticking off squats, a few lunge variations, some calf raises, plus more to ensure you’re targeting all the right muscles. But what if you could hit every single muscle in your lower body – quads, hamstrings, glutes and calves included – with just three moves?

Strong Women trainer Emma Obayuvana from our Strong Women Collective has created this workout to do exactly that. And we’re not just talking about muscle growth: lowering yourself deeper and performing faster reps translates into more powerful movement, so lifting yourself up out of those squats won’t feel as hard. Leg day just became our favourite day of the week…

These crumble bars are exactly what you need to get through this winter

An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but throw in a bunch of antioxidant-boosting nuts and Omega-3 packed seeds, and you’ll also be warding off fatigue and those seasonal blues that dreary skies can bring.

These granola bars contain tangy apple (packed with vitamin A and C to support your immune system) and sweet cinnamon (an anti-inflammatory that promotes the growth of good bacteria for better gut health). Plus, the apple, oats, flaxseed and dates provide the king of nutrients: fibre – which is so important for supporting hormones and controlling blood sugar. Winter may be coming, but thanks to these nourishing bars, you’ll be ready for it.

Trainer Laura Hoggins from our Strong Women Collective puts a sports bra designed for bigger chests through intense training

What? Lululemon Free to Be Elevated Bra, £29

What is it? A yoga bra made specifically to support DD cups.

The verdict: “I’m often on the go from 6am to 9pm – so I need activewear to be comfortable, yet keep up with my pace. Personally, I’m not a fan of low-cut sports bras so I tend to go for a high neck, but this style creates the perfect balance between the two.

This is meant to provide light support for low-impact activities such as yoga, but I wore it while doing a high-intensity workout and Olympic weightlifting, and I didn’t have to readjust it at all. The fit felt secure, yet it didn’t leave any marks on my skin when I took it off.

As a trainer, finding the right sports bra is the equivalent of finding a dependable handbag that carries everything you need to the office – reliability is non-negotiable. I give this 10/10 for retaining its shape, being supportive enough for a larger chest size, the removable cup pads and ideal coverage. It may seem like an investment, but when a sports bra endures wash after wash and still maintains its shape and fit, it’s worth the price tag for me. In my opinion, the best type of bra is one that you don’t even notice you’re wearing and that’s exactly how I felt about this.”
