Add a little balance to your social life

If you’re anything like us, 18 months in captivity has got you ready to say yes to pretty much any social occasion that comes your way. Park hang with your mates? Of course. Birthday of somebody you haven’t spoken to since uni? Yes, actually. Post-work catch up with a colleague you once described as “terminally dull”? In summer 2021, absolutely. However, while we’re all for being uber-social, we’re not quite ready for the physical impact (read: hangover) of the equivalent amount of social drinking.

That’s why we’ll be swapping out some of that alcohol for Ceder’s, a distilled non-alcoholic drink made from classic gin botanicals and exotic plants, blended in small batches with crystal water for a sophisticated drinking experience. Calorie and sugar free, it comes in four delicious varieties (Pink Rose, Classic, Crisp and Wild) and goes brilliantly as two parts tonic to one part Ceder’s. Add ice and consider your summer socialising sorted.

Try this apple pie recipe for an Olympian-approved 3pm energy boost

Since Rio 2016, double silver Olympic swimmer Jazz Carlin has swapped the pool for the kitchen, and we are here for her spin on a warming apple pie. Packed with apples and blackberries, it’s full of gut-friendly fibre, vitamin C, heart-loving polyphenols and cancer-busting anti-inflammatories, as well antioxidants. Spices like nutmeg and cinnamon add a little punch to proceedings while throwing antibacterial properties into the mix.

Even better, it’s full of regular ingredients like shop-bought pastry and sugar, rather than oat flour and agave syrup – because sometimes you just want to nip to your local shop rather than spending a fortune at Planet Organic. And if it’s good enough for an Olympian, who are we to judge?
