What is it? A new social marketplace app for all interiors enthusiasts. Officially launching today, it’s already been dubbed “Depop for homeware”.
Who’s behind it? PR agency owner Harriet Wetton who had the idea in March 2021 as she grew increasingly frustrated with the broader remit of other marketplaces. “I really wanted to be able to connect with other people who loved homeware and to discover new makers and creators all in one place,” she tells Stylist Loves. Eight months later, Narchie (a play on the South African word for clementine) was born.
Why you’ll love it: After spending the best part of the last two years at home, you’re not alone if you’ve become obsessed with revamping your space, spending countless hours searching for joy-inducing pieces. Now Narchie makes it easier to shop a range of unique items – and sell your own. “Our sellers are a really diverse mix of indie brands, side-hustlers, upcyclers, specialists, artists and creators,” says Harriet. “We want to provide a platform for a new generation of homeware entrepreneurs.” From vintage lamps to bold accessories and eye-catching glassware, we’ve already bookmarked a handful of sellers – including one of Harriet’s favourites, Vince’s House – with plenty more waiting to be discovered on the Instagram-like interface. Just like Depop, you can easily start your own vintage interiors side-hustle or use it to find a new owner for pieces you’ve fallen out of love with, while connecting with other homeware fans.
