Maya Rudolph’s new workplace satire is proof that friends are the new family

We’re not saying that life is all doom and gloom right now, but give us a TV show that promises to deliver some feel-good energy and we won’t refuse. Right on cue, Apple TV+ has debuted Loot, a workplace comedy with all the ingredients needed for a gratifying boost. Starring Maya Rudolph as a billionaire divorcée who overnight becomes the “most famous cheated-on woman on the planet”, the 10-part series explores what it means to venture outside of your comfort zone and pave a positive way forward – with a little help from an eccentric group of friends.

Loot is a show that’ll convince you to press play based off Maya Rudolph’s name alone, because as any fans of Bridesmaids or SNL know, she’s a comedic queen,” says Stylist’s digital entertainment editor Christobel Hastings. “And whether her character Molly is flitting between being a diva, attentive friend or carefree boss at her charitable foundation, she has some unsurprisingly fantastic moments. As viewers quickly find out, the chemistry between the ensemble cast is also well worth the watch: no-nonsense Sofia (Michaela Jaé Rodriguez), Molly’s enthusiastic cousin Howard (Ron Funches) and her snooty personal assistant Nicholas (Joel Kim Booster) are in their element as an unlikely bunch of colleagues who become like chosen family. Beyond the punchlines, though, are storylines that will genuinely tug your heartstrings, and you can’t help but feel warm and fuzzy as Molly discovers what truly matters in life.” Available now on Apple TV+

If there’s one thing you eat this weekend, make it TikTok’s favourite whipped feta dip

Take a stroll down memory lane to early 2021, and you may remember a certain baked feta pasta going viral. Joining the likes of Dalgona coffee and pesto eggs, #fetapasta accumulated more than 600 million TikTok views – and now its fans are obsessing over an alternate concoction that’s just as delicious. Ideal for casual summer dining, whipped feta couldn’t be easier – combining the cheese with yoghurt, garlic and seasoning to create a dip that’s fast overtaken hummus as our go-to.

A quick search on TikTok provides a plethora of DIY inspiration, but we’re taking our cue from Melissa Hemsley’s whipped feta and harissa honey recipe from her latest cookbook Feel Good (£22, Ebury) for a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. For those impromptu after-work park picnics, a pitstop at your local supermarket will provide ready-made offerings that are almost as good. Marks & Spencer’s Green Herby Feta Dip (£2.65) has been doing the rounds on social media with its basil pesto topping proving to be a winner, while both Waitrose (£2.50) and Sainsbury’s (£2) finish off their version with mint oil for a tzatziki-inspired flavour. Alpha Taste (£4.17) and Odysea (£3.29) add sweetness and colour to their feta dips with the addition of roasted red peppers, but if you’re looking for a blank canvas, Roussas’ Feta and Greek Yoghurt Spread (£2.99) can be loaded to your heart’s content. Hummus, we’ll see you in 2023.
