This Country

Some people will always go back to Friends if they want to be guaranteed a good time. Others will return to the comfort of The Office or Gilmore Girls. For me, there is no mood not improved by an episode of This Country. Sad, hungover, tired, excited… the mockumentary about Kerry and Kurtan Mucklowe (played by siblings Daisy May and Charlie Cooper) as they bumble around their small Cotswolds village always has my back.

And I never fail to laugh at least 98 times an episode, thanks to lines like: “You know my dad actually wrote the song Wonderwall on the back of a beer mat in the space of 10 minutes, don’t you?”

All I want for Christmas is for them to write a festive special.
